Despite the mortgage tightening measures that were introduced in the fall of 2016, the Montréal area real estate market performed well beyond expectations in 2017, as sales by real estate brokers increased by 8 per cent, making it the second best year on record.
Condominiums were largely responsible for these solid results, as the number of condo transactions jumped by 17 per cent.
